Students - Frequently Asked Questions

May I select any particular institute of my choice for doing the course?

Have to select from the participating college list under Udaan.

What are the charges the student would have to bear?

Tution Fees waiver is provided under Udaan. However other fees like registration fees, Exam fees, University fees, books etc has to be borne by the students.

Can TPF also help to get funding for other expenses too?

As explained above, Udaan is a cashless donation program. However in extreme cases, TPF would try to assist the student by putting them in touch with potential donors.

What is the scheme all about?

Udaan is an education initiative of TPF, where upto 100% scholarship of tution fees is provided for higher education i.e. Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses to deserving meritorious students from financially weak background. It is a cashless program and only direct seats are offered in designated institutions across India. The list of designated institutes alongwith streams is given in our website or maybe obtained by an email request. No cash scholarship is provided, only seats are given.

If we do the course from another institute would we get the reimbursement in cash?

Scholarship only will be provided to students taking admission in the participating colleges of the program. No cash reimbursement is there.

Where would the Career Counseling programs or Group Discussions, Personal Interview sessions be held?

Udaan Camp Office.

Apart from the TPF selection process would there be any other exams?

Apart from the scholarship process the students has to complete and meet the admission criteria of the college.

What are the documents required to be submitted for the scholarship program?

The candidate has to attach the following documents as given below:

  • Age Proof
  • Address Proof (of the parents if not available of the student)
  • Parents Income Proof
  • Migration Certificate
  • Copies of all mark sheets starting from class 10 onwards
  • Copies of all awards and achievements received by the student
  • Copy of career test report (as conducted by TPF)
  • 2 passport sized photo of the student
  • 1 postcard sized family photograph
  • 1 page Statement of Purpose (to be written in plain A4 page)
  • Recommendation letters (from teacher/principal/professor) [this is optional document]
  • Duly filled up and signed scholarship application of TPF (can be downloaded from the site)

What is the last date for submission of the forms?

30th June for the current academic session. However as seats are limited it is advisable for students to apply as soon as possible.

By when would the final list of selected candidates be published?

After the completion of whole process scholarship approval letter is issued.

Can a candidate who has scored the requisite marks in class X & XII, but couldnt continue his studies for financial reason and has a gap of one or two years, apply for this scheme ?

Yes can apply for scholarship but have to meet the admission rules of the college/institute/university.

Would there be any restriction on the scholarship given to a number of children of a particular family?

No such restriction is there.

What all charges are included in scholarship?

Tution Fees.
